Mobilize 2025
July-2025

Looking for effective ways to engage with the kids in your church? Learn about Bible Centred Ministries (BCM) and get engaged with what they can do for your kids! One of our own partners, Darnelle, shares about her involvement with BCM, including her part in the recent BCM Global Gathering in Uganda. Read her story here.

Getting to know different communities is always a risk, an adventure. Nobody knows what they will encounter. Yet my conviction is how then, can they call on the one they have not believed in?  And how can they believe in the one whom they have not heard?

While visiting Catacocha for a few days I had the opportunity to get to know four of the ten kids’ clubs. We went to the one fartherest away, about a thirty-minute drive.  It had rained the day before and some parts of the roads were slippery and muddy; I wasn’t sure we were going to make it back because this kids’ club was in a valley. Jenny tried to reassure me that the land we were driving on was very stable.  I smiled, nodded and prayed all at the same time.

“Ok Lord, I know you want these children, their families and communities to know, love and obey you, so here we are. Use us, protect and guide us so we can share the word with these children that they may be saved.”

We arrived and some of the children that were waiting had damp clothes and were coughing, but enthusiastic to see us and participate in the activities and reading of the Word.  It’s for children like this, and the hope that is in Christ, that inspires me to use the resources God has given; and to help mobilize and raise up other trainers amongst these kids’ clubs to help carry the load and responsibility to make disciples.

During the week in Catacocha, I got to spend a couple of hours with one of the teens and one of the adult helpers from another kids’ club.  There wasn’t a lot of time to share with these two about any form of training, so I basically prayed with them, shared the need for more workers, and how BCM ministries through me can help them.

In May this year, I went to Uganda to be a part of the BCM Mobilize 2025. Pat, who is the Lead Mobilizer for BCM, invited me to be a part of this work as I have access and training with this ministry.  It has everything needed to work with children and to train others how to do it too. For me it was very inspiring. I was tired when I went but came back feeling like my batteries were recharged.

In October, Pat and her team are planning to come to New Zealand while I will be there too.   They are making the most of this opportunity and have been contacting people, churches and organisations they know to see if there would be an opportunity to do some training in New Zealand. They seek to partner with others, to help equip children’s workers to reach, teach and disciple children.  We believe that if we want to help children walk with Jesus, to know, love and obey Him, then those who work with them must know how to help disciple and mentor them on this journey. They also train trainers before they leave so that they can continue training more workers to reach more children, thereby applying the multiplication principles that Jesus used with the disciples. The training is provided for free.
