SIC School

This project is established around a Christian boarding secondary school in Doro, Upper Nile State, South Sudan. Its focus is to teach and train students to become skilful men and women of integrity for the service of their nation. Students are prepared for further studies in specialised areas and training in universities and other institutions.
The school was forced to close in September 2011 due to escalating insecurity in the area. In February 2012 we began afresh in a new location and in March 2012, we started work on re-building.
Thank you for investing in the future of South Sudan.

Project Update June 2013:

The challenges have been immense, but we look back with gratitude at the miracle God has worked over this past 12 months. Somehow, despite the lack of resources, escalating prices, and shortage of building materials in South Sudan, we have been able to build the very basic facilities needed to get the school open.

The school opening in April was a huge celebration, and a great opportunity to acknowledge everyone’s hard work.
The school opening in April was a huge celebration, and a great opportunity to acknowledge everyone’s hard work.

The school is now the only independently run, English medium secondary school in the area, serving a population of over 250,000. Our aim is to provide a quality education to all, irrespective of age, sex, tribe or religion, and equip students with the skills they need to take a lead in their country.

But the facilities we have are truly minimal. We urgently need to add more classrooms, including a science laboratory, a permanent admin building, a dining room, kitchen facility and dormitories.

Respond to the urgent needs of this school now!
